SPORTING.

MR. BIDWILI/S HORSES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Masterton, |flst Night. On account of the death of his sister, Mrs. G. T. F. Button, Mr, W. E. Bi 1will has withdrawn all his horses nominated for the forthcoming Wairarapa Racing Cluh's meeting. TURF TOPICS. (By "Moluroa.") The Manawatu Racing Club's summer meeting opens at Awapuni on Thursday. Red Wing is said to be going well, and will "fly in" next week.

C. Jenkins will make his reappearance on All Red in the Auckland Cup on Monday. F

Bobrikoff, whose only engagement te the Auckland Plate, arrived at EUerslie on Sunday.

The first of Stronghold's progeny, King Gama, was well beaten in the Nuri sery Handicap at Plumpton Park last week.'

On the local tracks Tan San is striding along nicely, and is apparently greatly improved by his long spell. Wet Day was ridden by H. Paul when she gathered in the Anniversary Handicap at (Christjchmfch. Most papers credited R. Hatch with the winning ride, but this horseman piloted the favorite, Ingoda, who finished a long way back. Martine went out a warm bet for the Kindergarten Handicap, and looked like scoring easily until Fireglow (Martian—Fireside) swooped up in the last hundred yards and upset the pot, winning by a length. Advices'from India state that Peru and Neith are going well, and are expected to run forward at the Viceroy's Cup meeting on Boxing Day. Tawhaki, Formeden and Multiple arrived at Awapuni on Monday. The former will carry a lot of money- in I whatever races he starts in at the Manawatu meeting. Madlmra is an unlikely starter m the Palmerston Stakes, being left in the race through an oversight on the owner's part. Trainer E. Cutt's team for Awapuni comprises Broadsword, Fasnakyle, Flitaway and Madam Madcap—a formidable quartette. The hard going at Ellerslie is bound to knock up a number of southern horses. Already Alierbrotliock and the St. Andrew's Cur. winner. Taskmaster, are showing signs of lameness. Waipunui is a chamoion unlucky horse. Xine seconds this season is very discouraging to the prad's owner, aid that's what some people get for running a horse straight! Sydney papers state that T. Cahill was recently reprimanded for his' too vigorous use of the flail on a beaten horse—the good old harmless "reprimand"! Trainer Mason's Ellerslie team includes Armlet, Danube, and Miss Mischief, whilst Formeden will sport silk at Awapuni.

Sandstream is mentioned as an unlikely runner at the Manawatu meeting. Ben Deeley's' appeal against his disqualification by the Takapmia Club will hardly be henrd until after the New Year, so that Deeley will be riding as strongly as ever at Ellerslie next week. Kilindini has been breaking the watches lately, and may win a race next week.

'F. Cress will pilot Eooseveldt and Kilindini in the Auckland double—two good rides, some sports swear! The pony Orange and Blue is to be finally retired from the Turf, the champion of a few seasons ago being troubled with "the slows'."

Muskerry is showing better form, but most sports doubt his ability to aee out the two-mile race at Ellerslie on Monday. Great regret will be expressed at Gold Crest's breakdown, and the Porirua flier will' in consequence " pass" his Kan«itikei engagements. With races at Taranaki, Ellerslie, and Awapnni on Monday next punters will have plenty of opportunities to "use their heads." Fields promise to be large and winners hard to find.

Golden Loop, Uhlando, and Bismarck figure amongst' the Wellington Cup nominations.

Kalgoorlie. who is evidently a "surprise packet" for the handicapper, scored just as easily in the Farewell Handicap of the Wanganui trots as on the first day, Pierotte trotting into second place.

Stratford acceptances close to-mor-row at !) p.m.
