WAITARA HARBOR BOARD.

((From Our Own Correspondent). Tiiu adjourned monthly meeting .f the Waitara Harbor Board was held oi Monday evening. There were present: Messrs. G. H. Stubbs (chairman), H. Spiirdlc, W. K Jenkins, and H. Oliappel. Mr. George Pcarce wrote stating that he wished to change his present lease of part section, block DO, to the new conditions now offered by the Board.—lt was resolved that tile request be referred to the Leasing Committee to report at next mecthg of the Board. The Prime Minister's office wrote stating' that the vote of £3OOO for the erection of the Waitara bridge would receive consideration when the Estimates were being prepared. The secretary of the Wellington Harbor Board wrote supplying information in reference to the installation of the Morse signalling at the port. The cost of the installation would be about ;C2O. —lt was reflolved that the secretary be instructed to obtain the Morse signalling appliances for the port. The secretary of the Auckland Harbor Board wrote forwarding a resolution passed by that Board protesting against any clauses being inserted in the Harbor Act Amendment Bill or ill an\ measure giving power to the Governor-In-Council to grant leases to private in dividuals of any tidal lands witiiin the jurisdiction or control of harbor boards whereby such individuals' would have power to reclaim such lands.—Received.

A letter was received from the New Zealand Shipping Company in reference lo a truck of wool being damaged by rain. After the explanation given by I'm' secretary, it was resolved that the Hoard is not liable for the damage. The shipping report for the month was read, showing that 22 vessels en triad inwards, with a tonnage of 55115, and 24 vessels outwards, with a tonnage of oosn. On the recommendation of the Works Committee, it was resolved, that the rent of the old fcllmongcrv lie fixed at £l3 per annum. Messrs. xdiultz, Stone, and .lones applied for a piece of land on the riverbank, to erect a landing-staging aim smokeho inc.—Hesolved tluit the application h- granted, at a rental of .t'.l per annum.
