It was claimed that the War Office representatives promised to supply the company with all the stock captured vy Lord Kitchener during the Boer War at a penny a pound below the price of the contract for supplying meat to the "my, whereas the War Office charged threepence above the contract prio and refused to allow for the disease or poverty of the animals.
