Donaldson, a settler near Inverall, got into debt through wagering over a boxing contest in which his sons were concerned. Ho attempted to shoot,his family, who lived oi) his son's farm. His daughter was seriously.injured, but he missed his wife. His son got a gun and exchanged shots with his father. The latter ran away and was found dead, being shot through the back. His son was arres'.ed.
