At the annual meeting of the Nntiou. al Mutual Life Association, thee hairman, in moving the adoption ot the report and balance-sheet, congratulated members on the progress made, the new •business, including special transactions with the Australian Alliance Company, exceeding three millions, and the income for the year constituting a record, being £1,219,980, whilst the expenses were £5195 less than during the previous year. The interest earned was £4. 15s 3d per cent,, as against £4 14s 3d during the preceding' year. The idj dition to the funds was £612,878. The total funds were now nearly £8,000.000. The report was adopted n'nd the retiring directors re-elected.
