ATHLETICS

The athletic events which were to have been contested on the Herniation Grounds on Thursday evening last, but were postponed owing to a misunderstanding, will be got off on Thursday next at the usual time. In addition to the 150 and 000 yards events, a long jump will be decided. Considerable interest is now taken in these events, and the attendance at the weekly competitions has been growing very perceptibly. An Amateur Athletic Club was formled at Hawera last week.
