RIFLE SHOOTING.
CADET RIFLE MATCH. SPLENDID SHOOTING. ■ The cadet rifle-shooting matches in the programme of the 'laranaki Riite Association's annual meeting were fired at the Rewa. Rewa range on Saturday. The town schools' companies' competitors arrived' on the range by the 7.40 train, and firing commenced at 8 o'clock, the Stratford and Waitara contingents arriving by the first train from south. The work was most business-like the day through, and the markers had a very busy time. Major Sandford, V.D., was in charge, with Captain and Adjutant Johnstone second in command, Quartermaster-Captain Bary was the trench officer, and Corporal Avmitage and Sergeant Lewis supervised the markers, The shooting on the whole was good and there was a fine spirit of emulation amongst tM lads.
