The Hawera County Council invites tenders, to close December *23 rd, for supply and delivery of crushed metal. Train arrangements for Christmas and New Year are advertised. A general meeting of members' of the Taranaki Rifles will be held on Monday evening for the purpose of electing a junior lieutenant. Persons desirous of contributing Christmas cheer to the patients at the local hospital or inmates of the home are requested to communicate with the matron, the custodian, or the secretary. White and Sons' replace advertisement on our front page gives reasons why a panama hat makes a useful present for a man at Christmas-time. Go right through to the showroom at White and Sons' store, and sec the fine display of everything ready to wear for the hot days of Christinas'-time.
