An interesting little story was told one evening last week by Dr. Kenuedv, Rector of St. Patrick's College, at (lie 'prize-giving ceremony. A boy was called up to receive a prize, given by Lord Plunket for an, essay on India. The br.y did not appear. "I'll tell you why the boy is not here," explained the Rector. "He is at present in the country. He was an elementary school boy, and desired to improve his education by a course at college. In order to do this lie decided to work in the country and save \ip sufficient to, pay his fees nixt year. I mention this to you," Dr. Kennedy concluded, "as an example of grit which is well worthy the emulation, not only of the boys of St. Patrick's, but of the hoys of the Dominion as a whole.''
