YOUTHS BEFORE THE COURT. 1 "I''*-" "'l'. Pro* Association. Christchurch, Last Night, The sequel to the recent church robberies was the appearance of two snuili lads, named Thomas Brosnahan and Cecil Herbert Jeffries, before Mr. Bniirr. S.M., at the Police Court this morning on two charges of breaking and en terms churches. In answer to the Magistrate. Brosnahan stated he was 17 fears of age and Jeffries said he was 18. IloVn boys looked younger than their a»o. The first charge was that on or abo°it November 7th tliey did enter the Phillipstown Anglican Church with intent to commit a crime,, and the second h-.i.s that they entered the Roman Catholic Cathedral on or about November lit)] and stole therefrom a sum of ,£3. Chief Detective Bishop applied for a remand, as there were other charges rinding. The Magistrate remanded lip accused for a wepk, and ordered them to be kept' separate from the other prisoners. The bovs were arrested on Momhiv at Molesworth station, some 40 mil"? past Hanmer. Tiv Detectives Ward and Gibson. who only arrived in town with their charges last night. Both hoys reside in Christchnrch.
