Mr. Gilbert complained that business people making displays were relegated to the background, and the test stands given to the side-shows. He believed that the business people would willingly pay well to be permitted to put their displaysMn the area leading to the showpens. It was decided, on Mr. Wood's suggestion, to ask the Taranaki Jockey Club to allow the Society to plough and level a two chains strip from the entrance around the back of the cattle-pens to the hill. Mr. Wood also suggested that vehiehs should he admitted to a stand on the hill, on the eastern side of the horsojudging ring, upon payment of a fee. Several other suggestions for the improvement of the show were entered in the suggestion book. Accounts amounting to about £IOO were passed for payment, subject to adjustment in some instances.
