WELLINGTON TRAMWAYS. By Telegraph.—Press Association., Wellington, Last Night. The extension of the city tramways to Lyall Bay, where there i'e a splendid beach and where bathing, sheds have been erected, was opened to-day by the Mayor (Dr, Newman), who said he expected this place would become a favorite resort.
GENERAL LABOURERS' UNION. Dunedin, Last Night. 'At a meeting of the General Laborers' Union to-night resolutions were passed protesting against the Land Bill and urging the Minister of Mines to introduce legislation providing for [the safe working of the quarries.
