AMUSEMENTS.

HEWITT'S PICTURES.

IN TIJF. THEATRE ROYAL.

To-niglit the Hewitt's Picture Company will give another of their very fine performances, when another star programme of all new subjects will be shown. Judging from the class of films, Mr. Hewitt is sparing no pains to cater for the public, as every picture is new and bright, and the light is' the best that a kinematograph entertainment has had for many a long day. On Tuesday evening the management presented the best picture to an appreciative audience, " La Tosea," and owing to a number ot inquiries it will be again shown for two more nights only. We strongly recommend any person who has not seen this fine work to take the opportunity offered them. This night's programme consists of some extra good comics, Scenic, dramatic, and industrials.

LIEDERTAFEL CONCERT

The New Plymouth Liedertafel will give its initial concert in the Theatre Royal on Wednesday next, 15tli inst., at 8 p.m. The society, which is under the able conductorship of Mr. Chas. H. Anderson, is a very strong one, and is composed of most of the leading male vocalists of the town. Lovers of good music will find their tastes well catered for. The society is' a live one, and the members enter into their work with plenty of vim. There is every indication of the concert being a pronounced success.
