SWIMMING.
THE NEW ZEALAND CHA-Ul'lO-N----SHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington l entrp of the i\ew Zealand Swimming Association resolved to-night to protest against the action of the council ill not having allotted the championship meeting to Wellington since their inception nine years ago. The Centre will consider the question of refusing to nominate representatives at the coining championships unless next year's championships are allotted to Wellington. The following handicaps have been declared for the swimming rucc (")U yards handicap) to be contested at the baths to-night:—Pfankuch, Bristol, A. V. Stolir, scr.; Brown, Iscc.; Hawkins, 2 see.; D. Lning, 3; l'reshaw, Dixon, Francis, 5; Howell, (i; Cooper, Cioddard, Wilson, 7; Whittaker, llawke, 8; Burgess, Goss, Kennedy, l'airbrother, 9; McAllum and Neilson 10.
