THE LESSER EVIL. ANGLICAN CLERGV'S SESOLUTIOX. By Telegraph.—Press Association. • Christchurcli, Last Night. A meeting of clergy of the Anglican Church in Christehurch and neighborhood, many of whom have had experience in military, Suva'l and volunteer forces (was held m Christehurch to-dav, end the following resolutions were passed:—(l) That while recognising an element oi danger in the canteen, especially in regard to the younger men, this meeting is of opinion that canteens under strict military supervision will be a lesser evil than the illicit bringing of liquor into camp which will almost certainly prevail if fEe centeen is suppressed ; (2) That this meeting regards th" jrnaltv clause in the new Defence JSill as altogether inadequate and con fiders that the offence of illicit supplies sliould be made a felony; (3) That ilie t hairman (Bishop Julius) be reques'c.l •iv convey a copy of the?e resolutions to "ie Bight Hon. the Premier.
