SEW ZEALAND AWARDS. By Telegraph.—Press AtfiOfiatlon. Wellington, Last Night. Tin- secretary of the British and Foreign Sailors' Society, London, has for warded to the Education Department the results of the easay competition cb "Captain James Cook: his voyages and discoveries, and their value to the na tion, commerce and Christianity." The successful competitors are:—For the North' Island, Patrick Neville, .District High School, Onehunga, and Alice K. Wilson, Girls' Grammar School, Auek- , land. For the South Island, Douglas W. McClurg, Waitaki Boys' High School, Oamaru, and Johanna M. Brosnan, District High School, . Lawrence, Otago. There were 78 competitors from New Zealand, a larger number, says the secretary of the Society, than for the whole of Australia.
