RETICENCE OF OFFICIALS

Further evidence of the reticence imposed upon the Government servants by the recent circular by Cabtoot is found in the refusal by the local registrar to supply the details' of vital statistics which hitherto have always been open to the press. Now they are only available in the Registrar-Gener-al's returns when months have elapsed.
