To 1 date 45,567 bales have been catalogued and 42,246 sold. Hemp—The market is strong. Oc-tober-December is quoted at £29. Copra—The small sales and high prices are checking business. South Sea in bags is quoted at £22 7s Od. ' Cotton—Liverpool 7.47 d. Silver, 23 7-10 d. Copper—On spot, £49 12s 6d, three months £O9 13s 9d; electrolytie £O2 10s. Tin—On spot £142 10s, three months £144 7s Od. Shares—Waihi, buyers £9 13s 9d, sellers £9 10s 3d; Junction 37s Od ana 40s. 'HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. By. Telegraj h.—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. The High Commissioner's cable, dated London, November 27, is as follows: • Mutton—The market is quiet, with a tendency in favor of Myers. The stocks are being reduced but the supply meets the demand. The average price for Canterbury is 4d, North Island 3%d. The sale of lamb is dull all round. Owing poor demand, considerable quantities of stale lamb are being placed '.n the market. The average price for Canterbury is 4d, other New Zealand 3%d. Beef—The market is'weak. The supplies of River Plato beef are heavy. New Zealand hindquarters average 3'/jd, forequarters 3d. Butter—There is a good demand for butter. Prices are firm, but on a lower level in anticipation of the heavy arrivals. The average price for New Zealand choicest butter is 118s, Australian 114s, Danish 128s, Siberian 11«§. Cheese—Tho market is quiet but steady and there is no change in prices (New Zealand 575). . Hemp—The market is firm, with n better demand. New Zealand goi.l fair grade on spot is quoted at £2B in-, f'"r at £27 10s; Manila, fair current £27 lQs; January-March shipments New Zealand good fair £2B, fair £27; Manila, fair current £27. The output vif Manila for the week was 21,000 nnli-s. Cocksfoot seed—The market is firm and tajws have been offering more freely. The stocks on hand are light. The price of bright dean 171b New Zealand seed is 72s per cwt. Kauri gum—The market is rather quiet. Ordinary to fair three-quarter scraped i 6 quoted at 165s per cwt. firr half-scraped 102s Od, fair*half to throequarter scraped 87s Od; pickings, common to good 40s; bush, fair to good, pa'e and amber scraped 150s. The stock on hand is returned at 311 tons. Wool remains firm. Crossbreds are strong. LONDON MARKETS. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cable mes- ■ sages from their LVmdon house, under date the 25th inst.:— Frozen Meat.—Limited demand for mutton and lamb, for which prices are Va& to %& lower. For beef any change in prices is in favor of buyers. ■ Tallow.—Prices for mutton taltow are , unchanged, and there is a very small ' demand for other descriptions'. Trices arc nominally 3d lower.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their Lond'on House under date 2Cth inst.:— '• frozen Meat: Mutton market declining. Lamb market weaker. Beef market slightly weaker."
