FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
COMBINED ACTION IN LONDON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Saturday. At the annual meeting of the Farmers' Frozen Meat Company, Mr. De Lautour, the chairman, said the combination of all freezing companies should have a beneficial result on reputation, freights and Insurance, and to some extent in opening up new markets. Personally 'bp had no great faith in the possibility of regulating the London market, but lie agreed that much good could lie done by effective combined action at the port of arrival. He favored immediate action at the port of arrival. He favored immediate action by such companies as 'would work together. It would | )e a tax, he said, on them to keep a live agency in London, but. tile New Zealand meat market would he amply repaid bv the direct and indirect gains to the farmers.
