CENTRAL SCHOOL FETE.

The Central School Fete continues to be an unqualified success, every stall and every side show doing big business, whilst patrons find much to study and admire in the photographic and other displays of work. Last night the rooms and passages were no densely packed as on the first night, by reason of the fact that children were accommodated elsewhere. Competitions were going on all the evening. The entertainments given hy pupils of the school and adult performed .were well patronised, the first performance drawing a crowded house. The "criminal'' competition, giiessimr at the original of a photograph of a "disguised member of the crowd, was won by Messrs Bcnbow and Melsaae, who guessed correctly. A fireworks display was given in the grounds, and a concert was given by the Taranaki Garrison Band, whilst Mr. Hoffman's pianola oa. c out splendid music. The fete will | )0 continued today ind to-night, when a number of new attractions will be included in the programme For the convenience of visitors from the country to-day the fete will be opened at 11 a.m. Besides the numerous attractions in the main building, a matinee will be given in the gymnasium at 4 p.m., besides the evening performances, (living to the uncomfortable crush in Hie building, pupils of the school will not be I admittel free thi< ( .\-enin».

We are asked to mention that l!i» charges for admission this evening have been altered. Admission to the bazaar will be sixpence, but one shilling tickets will be issued to the bazaar and entertainment.
