ARBITRATION COURT.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gore Last Night. The Arbitration Court sat at Gore today to hear the Otago and Southland goldmincrs' dispute. The only points of difference were wages and preference. The Union demanded that the rate per shift for men on the Waikaia dredges should be raised from 8s to 9s per day, and the inclusion in the award of the ordinary preference clause. Decision was reserved.
In the claim for compensation, Elizabeth Cameron v. Thomas Crane, a threshing mill owner and farmer, of Edeudale it was intimated that respondent had paid the amount of claim, £250, for the death of claimant's husband who died as the result of injuries received while driving an engine for respondent.
