RAHOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The anniversary services in connection with the local .Methodist Church took ,place last Sunday, and were well attended. Appropriate sermons were preached by Mr. A. Pettigrcw, of Piliania, whilst the singing of the children from hymn-sheets presented 'by the Whiteloy Memorial Church, New Pit': mouth, was a special feature, and reflected great credit on the. choirmaster, Mr. MeClymont. Miss Ida Laybourn presided at the organ. On Wednesday afternoon" the annual picnic was held in Mr. Huglisoiis orchard, and a very pleasant afternoon spent- in games, races, etc., whilst th" wants of the inner man (or child) wei< ably attended to by the parents Mid friends of the children. In the evening a concert was held in the church, and. despite the fact that heavy rain fel just prior to the start, there was a go'«l attendance. The Rev.' Keall presided. An interesting programme was rendered consisting of choruses by the childrei and choir; solo, "True Till Heath," -Mr. MeClymont; recitation, "'Asleep at the Switch," Mr. E. Taylor; new church organ, Mr. T. Hughson. Mr. Gray (irescnted the report of the year's work ai the Sunday school, which proved very satisfactory. The prizes were then presented by' (ho Rev. Keall. and after supper had been handed <.und the proceedings closed. The sum of .CO was realised as the result of the anniversary. Tf is extremely doubtful if Rahoti' will be able to raise a cricket team this year. A meeting to form one was called (lie other evening, but. lapsed, is very few turned up.
