Butter—The market is' firm with an improved demand for best quality. Holders are firm. The Arawa's butter arrived in good condition. New Zealand choicest is quoted at 120s, Australian 110s, Danish 1225, Argentine 118s, Siberian 110s.
Cheese—The market is steady. Fair business is doing in best quality at 57s' per cwt. New Zealand is dull for second class. Hemp—The market is steady with fair business doing, and prospects are improving. New Zealand good fair grade oil spot is quoted at £27 10s, fair grade £26 10s, fair current Manila £27, Jan-uary-March shipments N-w Zealand good fair grade £27, fair grade £.20, fair current Manila £2O 10s. Peas—The market remains firm, with a good demand. New Zealand peas (partridge) per 5041b are quoted at 50s. Hops—The market is firm, owing to the reduced supplies, and the demand is expected to increase in the future. The prospects a7c good. Recent New Zealand shipments, which depreciated by tight pressing, realised l'los. English are quoted at 150s, and Califomian at 140s. Wool—The market is firmer.
