Bookmakers' fees were lixed on last year's scale: £2O a day and 10s for clerks. Mr. E. Whittle's offer to conduct the refreshment booth was accepted. TURF TOPICS. (By "Moturoa"). Races at Dannevirke to-day. Penates, Tawliaki and Roosevelt were unlucky at Riccarton. The Dannevirke meeting has drawn the usual big crowd of Taranaki horses, including the locally trained Golden Loop and Cyrene,
Stayboy shaped well at Waverley last week, and will be in a class of his own at Dannevirke.
Winners of races at King's Birthday mcetings will be required to put up penalties at Dannevirke to-day; lOlbs for one win and Clbs extra for a second victory. The handicapper may further increase these penalties if he deems it nccessnrv.

Of the others engaged in to-day's handicap, Equitas won at Clareville and Paisano has been winning frequently along the East Coast.
