Lord Charles Beresford, in a letter to a Mr. Lloyd, a solicitor and Unionist candidate for Rhondila, declares that (h.; Navy is not proi>erly organised or trained. No plan of campaign exists, and the Navy is dangerously short of many units. Unless the country woke np to the great necessity of adequate naval defence shortly, there would be no doubt that the Empire would be a thing of the past. Lord Charles concluded: "Thinking people of other countries sec the dangerous position of Britain more clearly than we do."
