THE OUTLOOK IN NATAL.

Mr. OMIT. Treasurer, in making a Budget statement in tho Natal Assembly, announced that the income and land taxes would l;e reduced one half. The outlook, he said, was most hopeful. A Bill authorising the Xatal Government to puchasc or expropriate suitable land for the purpose of settlement was *ejected bv the Speaker's casting vote. Xatal, November 4.
The Department of Agriculture in Natal has established an intelligence bureau to bring together the producers and buyers at home and abroad.
