.WEDNESDAY. NOVEMBER 3. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Council met at 2.30 and adjourned for lack of business'. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES The House met at 2.30. The Tokomaru Freezing Works Site Bill was read a third time and passed. The report of the Polic Commission was laid on the table and considerable discussion ensued on it. EVENING SITTING. In the evening Mr. McLaren moved Uic Beeond leading of the Public Works Amendment Bill, to enable the * local authority to construct streets or roads' under the statutory width in ccrtaiu circumstances, but not less than 30 feet. Sir Joseph Ward opposed the Bill. The Bill was referred to a special committee. Mr. Dive moved the second reading of the Mutual Accident Bill to enable mutual lire insurance associations to undertake insurance against accidents, and certain other insurance risks.
