WEST'S PICTURES. West's Pictures showed to a fair house last night. The pictures were projected on to the screen with the usual clearness and brilliancy, and the program ne was as pleasing as it was varied. Some of the sceuic films were particularly fine, particularly "The Other France," which was a capital depiction of life in the tropics, the camel caravans being a particularly interesting feature. The star pictures were a historical series dealing with the troublous times of Cromwell. Drama was well represent ;d, a charming and powerful Attn being " The Slave's Love." Comic pictures, as usual, kept the audience in good humour. Probably none was so well appreciated as the story of the millev, bis son, and the donkey, a well-worn story,

A matinee performance will be given this afternoon, and a change of pictures to-night. MONK-WARD COMEDY COMPANY We received the following telegram yesterday from the Monk-Ward Comedy Company, who are appearing at Gisborne and who. are shortly to appear at Ne.v Plymouth:—"Phenomenal season here; over two thousand seats liooked for four nights. Hie opening night, 'A Bachelor's Honeymoon,' broke all previous bmking records, including the 'Merry Widow.' Seven hundred seats wee booked." j
