NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The local club has matters well in hand for the coming competitions on the King's Birthday, and at the committee meeting last night it was decided to put an extra event on the programing, a catch-as-catch-can wresting competition, which, in addition to the exhibition walk by Mr. 11. E. Kerr, the Australian champion, should prove an additional attraction. It may lie of interest to intending competitors that before competing they must be members of some affi'iated amateur club, and may at any time join the local club on a membership of 5? per year. There is every indication of a club being formed ill Stratford at an early date, and later on ot'.er elut-s on the line to Wellington. At the time till the 9th November is not long now every intending competitor should not miss an opportunity of I getting into form, as it is practically decided to hold evening events on the Sport's Ground each week with a night meeting every month. This should prove attractive and give interest to the sport, which is deserving of every assistance. Entries for the events on the Stll close on Thursday next 4th inst. and it should be remembered that entries can only be accepted on the proper form •which may be had on application to the secretary
