Tiie wishes of the' Alliance were stated by -Mr. Adams in an address of about aa 'hour's duration, and lie afterwards answered questions. '' Wellington, Last Night.The Town Hall war, packed to-night 1 when a public meeting was held by I th ( . no-license party. On the platform were ministers of various denomina- , tions, Mr. K. A. Wright, M.P., and the Chinese Consul-Gencral. Mr. Wesley Spragg, president of the New Zealand Alliance, was in the chair. The Hon. A. 1. Ngata tent a letter regretting he could not attend, as he desired to sho'Y his interest in the movement especially in relation to his own race. The proceedings were enthusiastic throughout. The following resolutions were carried: "Hint the time has now come when t"le question of licensing polls should be decided by a bare majority vote, and urges on the Government'and Parliament a respectful demand for immediate legislation to secure this reformj This meeting strongly supports the demand of the no-license party for legislation to provide for taking a Dominion option poll triennlally on the licensing question, in addition to the local option poll, and urges the Government and Parliament to give immediate effect to tlu.-e demnnds; This meeting expresses deep indignation at the violation of tie solemn promise given to the natives by the Government that no liquor license's should be granted in the King Country, and culls upon the representatives of every section of .the Christian Church, press editors, and members of Parliament to whom the welfare of tha Maori race and honor of the nation is dear, to urge the Government to at once antrodu.ee legislation to annul the licenses granted and to remedy this < evil," ,
