COMPENSATION FOR LAND.
AWARD AGAINST THE RAILWAY DEPARTMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. An award was given by the Compensation Court this afternoon in the claim by the Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Co.. Ltd., against the Railway Department of £.1309 for land taken in connection with the widening of tin Hutt railway at Petorfo. The award rf the Court was unanimous that the respondent (the Minister for Railways) should forthwith take steps at bis own expense to hnve revested in the claimant the land claimed lo be restored to claimant, and that he pay £I3OO (a satisfaction of the claimant's claim.
