THE MOTOR CAR FATALITY.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A Press representative asked Inspect, or Gillies today if there were any news regarding the motor car fatality, and l;o replied, No, you will have to wait a bit." It is understood the papers connected with the fatality have been forwarded to the Minister for Justice, and that the Officer Commanding the Canterbury volunteer militia district is i:i communication with the Chief of the General Staff (Col. Robins, C:B.) oa the subject of holding a military court io enquire into the circumstances connected with the fatality. The late Captain Pavitt having been on duty at the time of the fatality, his relatives will, it is stated, receive compensation from the Defence Department, but the amount of such compensation is not known.
