men's decrease 8; croquet members, increase 2; honorary members, ladies' increase 4, men's increase o. The annu.'l Taranaki championship meeting was hell on the courts, proving a most successful, gathering; the profit resulting was £l4 Is lOd, which went to the club's funds. The annual match Taranaki against Auckland was played on the courts. During the season the only club matches played were ladies' and men s handicap doubles, Misses Thompson and Kirkby winning the ladies', and -Messrs. Balharrv and Thompson the men's. The following inter-club matches were played:— Fitzroy two matches (wins), Stratford (a win), Eltham (a loss), Haw -ra (a win), and Inglewood two matches (a win and a draw). Croquet:—Club
matches—Championship singles, winner Miss Deacon; handicap singles, Mrs. R. Gray; handicap doubles, Jlesdames II Gray and Mills; American tournament, Ist Miss Deacon, 2nd Mrs. FitzHerbert. Intcrclub matches—lnglewood (a win), llawera two matches (losses). The committee has to thank the ladies who so kindly provided afternoon tea during the season, and also the ladies' committee which greatly assisted tile club in entertaining visitors. The thanks of fie club are also due to those kindly donating prizes for tournament and club matches. The committee appreciates tlr-

As recommended last year, a tar and sand court lias been laid down at a cost of .€l2 As to tbe club. The committee liere wishes to thank ithose members who so generously made donations towards the work. Further improvements will be made to this court, as the drainage 19 not satisfactory.
