Mackenzie, refirriiig to the statements made regarding moisture in butter, said that the attitude of the (iorcrmnent was taken uo in consequence of the decision of British importers not to allow more than 10 per cent, of moisture in butter. The results of the analysis showed that an excess of moisture existed as high as 33 per cent. The Department had no wm:i to push cases to prosecution, but merely to warn exporters to comply with the law.
