The report of the Similar Schools' and Yoim« I'eople's Societies' Committee stated there was growing interi'st in the annual examination,""and the ouality of the work done was distinctly good. The report advocated a uniform date for holding examinations. Dealing with Sunday schools, it stated that compared with last year the rate of progress had slackened perceptibly. Of the 55 schools 30 had shown an increase and 15 a decrease, but Hie increase had hardly counterbalanced tli" decrease. The total number of teachers was 700, scholars WO, Bible classes 857. an increase of 31 leachers, and 221 scholars, and Bible class teachers. Various (Speakers emphasised Hie necessity for stimulating interest in the work of Sunday schools. The receipts on behalf of the manse fund for the year amounted to m 13s Sd. making' a credit balance of .C 123 lis 2d. The report of tli-> various auxiliaries gave a comprehensive review of the condition of RaplUt churches throughout the Dominion, ami were most encournjring.
