A teirilif hurricane swept over th" 1 State of Florida and the island of Cuba and caused great devastation. Many small buildings at Havana (the capital of Cuba) were raised and many persons were killed. Tho damage is estimated at .£300,000.
Ninety-five vessels eunk off the coast. At Key West Island the town was practically wrecked. The damage is estimated at £IOO,OOO. Martial law has leen proclaimed. The mob is attempting to raid th° food shops.
