A Oliristehureh message states that the Presbytery there has decided to nominate the Rev. W. J, AlcKenzie ) of Nelson, as Afoderator of the General Assembly. Mr. Erie Hutchison, son of Air. T. Ilutchison, S.AJ., lias succeeded in passing the entry examination for the South Kensington Technical School, London, and he will there undertake a. two-years' course in engineering in its various branches.
Mr. T. E. Taylor (Christchuroh North), who has not been in the best of health lately, assured a Dominion representative, in response to an enquiry, that he was- "feeling better every day." Mr. Taylor has joined the growing army of no-breakfasters.
On Friday evening the friends of M'\ Ij. ,1. Hocking, of the railway locomotive stall, met at the residence of Mrs. I'ranks, l'it/.roy, and, on the occasion of his departure on transfer to l'almerston North, presented him with a silver 'mounted tobacco pouch as a small tok -n of esteem. Mr. Hocking suitablv replied.
