A SITUATION' CHARGED WITH PERIL. MR. LLOYD-CEORGE HITS OUT. By Cable.—Press Assodation.—CopyrigM
London, October 10. Mr. Lloyd-George (CluincoUor of the Exchequer), speaking at Newcastle, said 'the more irresponsible feather heads among the Lords want to throw the Budget out. Poor Lord Lausdowne, who has a creaking old ship and a mutinous crew, told the crew he has to sail
through the narrows with one eye on the weather glass and the other on tic forecastle, file real sailing master is the chief Tory Whip, who is now trying tx) decide whether it is safe to shoot t'u albatross. The Budget's fate depends on the report froni the country." Concluding, Mr. Lloyd-George ga'd: "The Lords may decree revolution, but the people will direct it. If the constitution is torn to pieces, issues will he raised which the Lords little dreamed of. Who made ten thousand people owners of the soil? Who was responBible for the scheme whereby one engages in grinding down labor to eking out a precarious existence while another is rolling in unearned luxury; questions 'will be asked and the answer will he charged with peril for the ord«r of things which the peers represent."
