PETROLEUM.
DR. BELL'S VISIT. A meeting of delegates from the various petroleum companies in the district was held at the Taranaki Petroleum Company's olHce last night to take steps in connection with the forthcoming visit of Dr. Bell, Government Geologist, to the oil fields. The following companies were represented:—Taranaki Petroleum Co. (Messrs Bellringer, Roy and Carter;, Oil and Freehold Co. (Messrs Corkill, Jones ami Browne), Inglewood Co. (Messrs T. Furlong, C. Ahier, A. E. Watkin* and Spencer). It was .resolved that the chairman of each company should make arrangements for Dr. Bell's reception, and that Messrs Okey and Jennings, M.P.'s, be communicated with intimating that the companies would be pleased to furnish any information faciI litating Dr. Bell's investigations.
