the Health Officer's report was real drawing the Council's attention to the very unsatisfactory arrangements at present existing as to the removal of rubbish within the borough. At present the duty of removal devolves upon each individual occupier of premises, with tii° result that rubbish i s stored until theie is sufficient to make a load and employ a carter to remove the same. He recommended the Council to consider the advisableness of instituting a service for t/ie collection and removal of rubbish on contract, and on the same lines as the present nightsoil removal contract It I would be found that such would Very much improve the sanitary conditions ot tli- town, and would be cheaper fo,each individual occupier than the present system. 'The system outlined in vogue m every borough within my district with the exception of Waitara and I trust your Council will see the advisableness of adopting some such method also.'
I The Clerk of the Inglewood' BoroiHi Council wrote stating that the Council intended to nominate Mr. D. II Macdonahlas its representative on the Tnranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, and asking the Council to also nominate him.
