THE ALBERTI FRAUDS.
PETITION' TO THE KING OF DENMARK. Ily Cable.- -Press Association.—Copyright Copenhagen, October 5. A petition bearing 150,000 signatures lias been presented to the King of Hen mark asking him to order the allegations against M. Alberti, ex-Minister ol Justice, to be investigated by a State Court. The petitioners also deprecated the inclusion of M. Cbristensen, exPremier (who resigned at the time of the Alberti frauds in October last), as Minister of Defence in the present Ministry. Tbe King refused to interfere, and deplored the suspicions raided against M. Christensen.
M. Altarli, Minister of Justice until July, 1!)()8, was arrested on a charge of forgery while director of the Zealand (Peasants' Savings Bulk. Allegations had been made against liiin for Rome months previously of making use of his olVice for private ends. His defalcations wer<> stated to amount to nearly C 1,000,000. The then Premier, M. Cliristensen, resigned, and M. Neerguard, Financial Minister, formed a new Cabinet.
