JOSEPH vi/LirrzEH. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Vienna, October 5. Joseph Pulitzer, brother of Mr. Albert Pulitzer, editor and author, committed suicide by poisoning himself and shooting himself with a revolver at the Grand Hotel. Vienna. He had been suffering from a nervous breakdown.

The deceased was a member of tiic Missouri Constitutional Convention In 181)11. lie was elected representative in Congress' from Xew York City from 1885 to 1887, but resigned after a few months. He gave one million dollars to the Columbia University, Xew York, in 1003, to endow a school of journalism. He maintained fifty-two prizo Pulitzer scholarships in various leading American universities for Xew York City school graduates eliosen by annual competitive examinations. The'late M", Pulitzer was 02 years of age.
