After over two years spent in Australia, whither he' went for the sake of his health, Mr. Walter W. Jonce, of Mokan, has returned to Taranaki, whbh he looks upon as a most 'favored province. "Give me New Zealand," says Mr. Jones, "with its green fields and reliable climate. T am tired of looking at dried-np pastures, and am glad indeed to he again in this sunny, yet well-watered land." He vietted West Australia, Tasmania and Queensland, and found the last-named a progressive country, adding considerably to its population, yet not. he thought, sufficiently attractive to induce pastoralists from this country, m any number, to take up their abode there. The one thing New Zealand wants to do, he says, is to reduce the price of farming land, and then there will be no trouble. If the inflation continues, he fears a temporary set-hack when the price nf produce falls, and he thinks there should be a sufficient margin to guard against that. Mr. Jom's will again reside in the Mokau district -Wailara Mail.
