AN EXCITING EXPERIENCE.
NEW CIIUM RUNS AMOK. REVOLVER AND SHEATH KNIFE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, October 4. A local barber had an exciting experience on Saturday night. A man under the influence of liquor walked in and requested a hair cut and shave. Afterwards he refused payment and commenced to sing. On i>emg pressill for payment the man, whose name is Eustace Rose, drew n revolver and pulled the trigger in the barber's face. Fortunately the weapon was unloaded. Rose then drew and nourished a sheath knife above his head. The hairdresser sought refuge through a back door an I called the police sergca:it, who spoke to Rose. The latter became abusive and asked the officer if he wanted a "bash in the jaw." The sergeant's reply was to lay the man in the gutter and X) relieve him of th<» knife and revolver. At the police court this morning Ro-e did not remember committing trie offence. The pclice s«»id Ro?o wnfc n' new chum. Accused was lined £2 and costs.
