BLOW-UP AT'NO. 3. Work is Wing pushed ahead steadily ' at No. 3 bore in saud-pumping the well and getting the new pump tubing ready for lowering into position. The pressure of gas had buen increasing all day, aud while the pump was being lifted -with its cargo ol oil at 4 o'clock, the escape of gas became strojig- that the men were with dilliculty able to continue their work in the vicinity. As soon as the pump reached the surface, the oil rushed from the mouth of the bore with great force, Hooding the inside of the building and escaping from every aperture. A very safe estimate of tlu> quantity ejected, nearly all of which will b» secured, would be at lea6t 15 barren, equal to (»()[) gallons of clean crude oil. The bore emptied itself to a depth of between 1(500 and 1700 feet. Sandpumping will be continued during the next few days until' the deep-well pump is ready for work.
