Ure, Liberal member for Linlithgowshire, speaking at U&teshcad, said he believed the country would get I revenue rifling each year until it drew millions a year out of land without inflicting a particle of injustice on any human being. " The people," he added, "must settle the question of the Budget for themselves, and they will have an early opportunity of doing so." Mr. Lloyd-George secured the rejection of Sir P. Magnus' amendment to exempt from the new land taxes all land income the profits of which were applied for the promotion of education, literature, science, or fine arts. Mr. LloydGeorge Rtated that already he had conceded two-thirds of the claim made on behalf of public schools.
THE GOVERNMENT'S PROGRAMME. London, September 28.
