SMUGGLED GOODS. Ay Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. Anton Pcdersen. a carpenter on the Norwegian steamer Thyrn, now in Wellington, was charged at the Police Court to-day with knowingly harboring l uncustomed' goods, viz., 19 pounds of tote«'c,o, 25 cigars, and one bottle p! whisky, of a total value of £4 10s Oil. A fine of C 7 10s was imposed, in defauitl 14 days' imprisonment, and an oriUr made for the forfeiture of the goods, •lakiu llalversen. second engineer of the Thyra, was charged with being found in possession of 12 pounds of uncustonud tobacco and two bottles of whiskv, valued at E4 Ss. Tie Magistrate fined him .ClO, or an alternative of 14 days' imprisonment, and also made an' order that the goods should be forfeited,
A BIGAMIST PLEADS GUILTY, Wellington, Wednesday. * Frederick Henry Lambert was charged at the 'Police Court this morning with committing bigamy. It was alleged that accused, who was described .is a confectioner, went through a form of marriage at Wellington on, 15th instant with Mary Jane Collins, his first wife being still alive. Lambert pleads guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
