DAMAGES AGAINST TRAMWAY | BOARD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Thursday. Mi. ilf-Wcn, S.M., gave judgment today in ihe case Peter Carroll v. the Tramway Board. Plaintiff claimed ■•£6o for damages sustained on July 16 through a gig in which he was being strucr bv a tramcar. The Magistrate, found that the driver was guilty of negligence in not applying the brakes when he saw the plaintiff in trouble with a frightened horse that had backed the gig into the wheel of a meat van and got loekvd in it and on the, tram line. He found a verdict for £4O against the Tramway Board, whose officer he said was in default.
