A LUCKY ESCAPE.
OF ROTORUA MAIL TRAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The express to Rotorua is said to have had a lucky escape from disaster this morning. An engine and some tracks of a special goods train to the Waikato were derailed at Whangarata, through the main line points, so it is alleged, being left unlocked. Whangalata is a non-stop station for the express, and if the special train had not been running just in front of her the result would doubtless have been a calamity.
