THE WOOL MARKET. f London, September 21. Wool opened brisk, with a 15 per cent, advance.
Received 22, 11.20 p.m. London, September 22. At the wool sales the Buxton Co. and Balme Co. offered 6700 bales, whereof 5344 were New Zealand. There were very inferior selections. There was a crowded attendance and e.xeited eonpetitions from all quarters, especially Americans, who freely bought greasy Compared with the closing rates of the July sales, merinos advanced 10 per cent, and crossbreds 15 per cent.

There is a very brisk demand and great competition between American and Continental buyers. Supplies will be moderate.
